1. SIMPLICITY POWER PUNCH OF THE MONTH

VISUALIZATION

Have you kept your New Year's resolutions going? If not,
let's talk visualization. You have to be very careful with this
tool. You know the saying, be careful what you wish for,
you just might get it. That's what visualization is all about.

I don't know about you, but the moment I decide to "see"
something in my minds eye, it happens. That goes both
positively and negatively. If I am golfing and I see water
between me and the green, I might see the water
consuming my golf ball on the next shot. Nine out of ten
times, that ball will go in the water. If I walk up
to the ball and only see the green and the ball bouncing
once and rolling towards the pin, the same stats apply.

You become what you think. You see, your brain
doesn't know truth from fiction, so it believes everything
that you think. If you always say, "I am sick and tired of…",
my guess is that you are often sick and feel very tired.

Because visualization works, you have to be careful what
you wish for or think of. If you think big, you get big!
If you think garbage, you get garbage. If you don't want
much, you won't get much. If you think positive, you
get positive. It's that simple.

2. IN CLOSING - CATALOG CLOG

Could you please provide some tips on how
to deal with the many catalogs we all receive?
Sometimes the new ones that come are the same
as older catalogs, just with a different cover.
I might not see something in a catalog that I want
right at that time, but I keep it, 'just in case'. Any tips
you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Maureen Lison

Thanks so much for your question, Maureen!

Before you even keep all the catalogs, let's back
up and figure out if you really need to receive them.
Are there any from which you can be removed from the
mailing list? Be realistic. Can you just as easily go
to their websites if you want shop or order?
The web is constantly up to date.

Now, for those catalogs that you do keep, consider magazine
files that can house the catalogs in an upright position
so nothing gets buried. You can weed out old ones
easily. Or a vertical literature rack (like you see in a doctors
office holding magazines). You could alphabetize
them and when the new one comes in, remove the old one.

About your fear of missing something, that is based
on how you think. What is the worst thing that will
happen if you don't see a catalog? Not much, except
you'll save some money! Can you live with that?
I could. What you don't see in a catalog will not hurt
you. I have had clients throw all catalogs away as
they come in for a week or two and many of them feel
better because the pressure of having to look at them
is gone. They then call to remove themselves from the
list, knowing they can always visit the web.

I hope this helps!

Here's to simplifying your life!

Until March,

Patty
