1. 12 MONTHS TO SIMPLICITY - DON'T TOUCH!

Do you keep just about everything you touch? There
may be something to that. By touching something,
you feel the need to keep it just by virtue of the fact that
you touched it.

If you are not sure, have someone hold up an object for
you to see from about 5-10 feet away. Take note of how
you feel about keeping that object. Now have them hand
it to you and see if you feel more strongly about keeping it.

If you touch-and-keep, this can make getting organized
and decluttered nearly impossible. So how do you overcome
that? You may not be able to do it alone. I would suggest
that you work with a clutter buddy or hire a professional organizer.

By having a second person to work with that can "show"
you items from a distance, you will see a significant difference
in how much you keep (and pitch!).

If this touching syndrome affects you, I would suggest
that you keep your hands in your pockets as you shop. Your
new motto should be "Look - DON'T TOUCH!"

3. IN CLOSING -- SUBSCRIBER TIPS

Here's a storage idea that just came to me recently.
I needed something to store my lipsticks, brushes
and small cosmetic items in. Even though I had
them in plastic baskets in my drawer they always
kept falling over. I have some plastic bathroom
glasses, not too high and with squared corners
which I bought from Altmeyer's in Great Southern
shopping center for under $2. They've worked out
great and my lipsticks are right there, no more digging.

I recycled both the bathroom glass and the bottom
part of the soap dispenser. Since both were squared
rather than round they fit side by side. I want to get
a few more for cotton balls and Q-tips.

Thank you for your great tips, Bernadette!

readers, send it to me at patty@kreamerconnect.com.

Here's to simplifying your life!

Until November,

Patty
