1. 12 MONTHS TO SIMPLICITY
DEALING WITH PAPER...PART 2
Continuing from last month's where we dealt with
the mail,
I wanted to add that subscriber Grace Lindgren was
on her
toes when she emailed to remind me that as you open
your
mail over a wastebasket, be sure to invest in a
shredder
to destroy any papers with your personal information
on
it due to the identity theft problem that (unfortunately)
is too real. I forgot to mention that, so thanks
for helping
us all out, Grace!
This month, let's talk about the paper that already
exists
and how to deal with it.
There are only 4 things you can do with a piece
of paper as
you sort through it all as you use the EASY System.
You can:
E liminate it
A ct on it
S end it away
Y ou file it
Decision-making becomes more concise and narrow
and you will
avoid spreading papers all over into 39 piles. Having
only
four choices makes sorting quick and effective.

2. LOSE WEIGHT EVERY DAY
At least I got your attention! I don't mean body
weight, I meant stuff weight. If you throw (or give)
something
away every day, you will see your clutter disappear
over
time. Make an effort each day to DECIDE on something
in your life that you can release. A year later,
you will
have 365 less items in your life! WOW--now that
is do-able.
Just be careful NOT TO REPLENISH the stock. Once
you see
your life simplifying, you won't want to complicate
it any
more.

4. IN CLOSING... APRIL = SPRING CLEANING
As the weather warms up (eventually!), we feel the
need
to clean out our homes. Don't look at this as a
chore, but as an
opportunity to relieve stress and bring freedom
into your
life.
Give yourself permission to let go of the stuff
that has
held you back from being your best and you will
be
pleasantly surprised at what comes back to you (and
I
don't mean in the form of more stuff!).
Question why you keep what you do. If you use excuses,
you
will never part with anything. Really dig deep into
the reasons
WHY you keep things in your life. SPRING into simplicity
and discover a whole new world.
Here's to simplifying your life!
