1. PLAN AND IT WILL HAPPEN

Ever notice how you can expertly ignore your
to-do list? It's human nature to run down the
list, passing by those items that you consider
not so fun while choosing to do those items that
will be easy, less time-consuming, and hardly
important.

I believe another term for this is procrastination.
Here's a solution that you can try for a week and
I bet you'll see results almost immediately.

Instead of or in addition to your to-do list, plug
each task into a time slot in you daily planner.
Be realistic as to how much time you are willing
to spend on it. Block out that amount of time and,
just as you show up for appointments, you will "show
up" for your task. You will be 90% more likely to
accomplish the task than if you just listed in on
your to-do list.

For every minute you plan, you can save up to 12!
Just plan 10 minutes a day to save up to 2 hours...not a
bad investment.

Try planning for a week...you have nothing to lose but
the frustration of feeling like you are spinning
your wheels!

2. JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

I'd barely finished buying my Halloween candy and
all the holiday wares were being put out in the
stores. Thanksgiving has just passed and the
hype had already begun with the ads in the newspaper,
the TV commercials, and the news reporting live from
the malls.

Just walking through a store is enough to
over-stimulate all of the senses WITHOUT the propaganda.
Know your purpose as you shop instead of letting
the frenzy of the moment pull you in to purchases
that are not necessary or frivolous.

Step back for a moment and examine what your
holiday means to you. Are your actions reflecting
your true feelings? If not, take a deep breath,
and allow yourself to consider what it is that you
want to do for the holidays. I don't think it
should be measured in a dollar amount. Do you?
